As we look ahead to 2025, the world of interior design is brimming with exciting flooring trends that promise to transform living spaces. From warm and inviting wood tones to bold statement designs, there’s something to suit every taste and style. This year, we’re embracing a perfect blend of timeless elegance, creative expression, and eco-conscious living. Let’s take a look at some of the top flooring trends we’re excited to see in 2025.

Warm woods

For a subtle yet sophisticated floor that sits demurely in the background, a wood design in a warm neutral tone will add natural beauty and texture but also allow other design elements shine. A straight lay pattern is ideal for this traditional look or, if you’re looking to disguise a narrow or awkward space, laying full sized planks at a 45 degree angle can help the room feel wider.

Alternatively, why not add visual interest with a parquet or herringbone pattern. A timeless classic that’s easily our all-time favourite, these floors are ideal for introducing a sense of movement and depth to a more pared back scheme.

Statement floors

Your floor can also act as a canvas for your creative expression. Choosing a bold design in an intricate or colourful pattern is guaranteed to transform your floor into a captivating focal point.

For a modern interpretation on a classic tiled floor that oozes character and charm, why not blend black and white marble design tiles in a geometric pattern. Or recreate the opulence of Victorian geometric tiles with our Heritage Collection in either a traditional colour combination or a contemporary interpretation.

Dark and moody floors

While we expect lighter coloured floors to remain popular, darker options are steadily carving out their own niche. Exuding luxury and elegance, a dark floor creates a cosy, intimate atmosphere that will instantly transform any room into a tranquil retreat.

With the versatility to enhance airy neutrals or bold dark colours, a dark floor is a great choice for adding drama and sophistication. For example, in the kitchen a charcoal grey slate design floor will offer a striking contrast to lighter cabinetry and countertops, while in the hallway a darker floor will highlight architectural features.

Sustainable luxury on a budget

Having said all that, we believe that beautiful flooring shouldn’t cost the earth. We understand that nobody wants to decorate their home at the expense of our precious and vulnerable environment. Which is why we take our duty to produce flooring in a sustainable way very seriously and we’re proud to shout about our commitment to sustainable manufacturing, using recycled materials and complete supply chain transparency.

What’s more, we don’t think your dream floor should break the bank either so it’s reassuring to know that Karndean flooring is designed to cope with all that modern life can throw at it. Designed to last a lifetime, it’s waterproof, easy to keep hygienically clean and resistant to stains and scuffs. So you can have the look you want without any worries at all!
